To the congregation at Deerfoot Church of Christ, from your elders:
The shepherds at Deerfoot Church of Christ continue to monitor the COVID-19 pandemic and its impact on our worship and other assemblies. In light of Governor Kay Ivey’s announcement on Friday May 8th, the Deerfoot Church of Christ will move into the next phase of the COVID-19 response for church assemblies on Sunday May 31st.
After much prayer, deliberation, and input from the deacons, ministers and many of you, we have a plan. It won’t be perfect, and we’ll tweak it and communicate it where necessary. We greatly appreciate your continued patience and support.
In observance of the government’s guidelines regarding 6ft social distancing (6FSD), we will have limited seating in the auditorium for approximately 100 people, with overflow in the fellowship hall. To accommodate this number, we will have three in-person worship services on Sunday morning at 8:00 a.m., 9:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m., with the 9:30 a.m. service streaming live on our website, YouTube channel and Facebook page for those worshipping from home. We ask households to sit together, maintain the 6FSD between other households and STRONGLY SUGGEST the wearing of face protection (to be removed for the Lord’s Supper).
If you are sick, if your health is vulnerable, or if you’re concerned about your health as we meet together, please stay home. You will be part of our worship assembly by viewing our live stream during services.
We will provide individually packaged Lord’s Supper unleavened bread & fruit of the vine at the doors leading into the auditorium prior to services, partaking of the Supper at the appropriate service time. Empty containers can be properly disposed at the building exits. At the end of service, the same men serving the Supper will be taking up the collection for the saints at the same auditorium doors.
Prior to and at the conclusion of the service, please fellowship outside, allowing for the 6FSD for others to move freely through the pathways, hallways, and lobby. We will be cleaning the building after each service.
Which Service Will You and Your Family Attend?
To ensure we maintain proper social distancing, we ask each family to let us know which worship service they prefer to attend. The survey can be submitted electronically here:
A printed copy of this survey will also be mailed this week to every member, which can be printed and returned to the church building either by mail or between 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. Saturday when you pick up your communion supplies.

Building Cleaning Volunteers Needed
As you can imagine, three worship services will require a bit of coordination to provide for each service (song leaders, prayers, scripture reading, ushers, audio/video), safety team, and cleaning. We will need to clean the auditorium, lobby, hallways, restrooms and fellowship hall after each service. Volunteers are needed.
We Love You
Thank you again for your kindness, generosity, and support. We love you.
PLEASE, regardless of your personal feelings toward COVID-19 and the response, help us adhere to these guidelines, including 6FSD, to ensure each other’s well-being and in keeping with Romans 13:1. We look forward to the day we can hug and shake hands.
If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to one of the elders or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org. Galatians 6:9-10
